Efrain Escudero was already prepared to fight on September 15th at the UFC's Ultimate Fight Night 22 in Austin. He just found out he has a new opponent.

Escudero, who was already set to fight John Gunderson on the televised portion of the card, has been bumped up to co-headliner status. His new opponent will be fellow TUF alum Matt Wiman.

Wiman was set to face Mac Danzig in a rematch from their fight at UFC 115, where Yves Lavigne mistakenly thought that Danzig was choked unconscious. Both fighters had agreed to a rematch on the spot, and Dana White agreed after the event that it was in order. Danzig has had to withdraw with an undisclosed injury.

Escudero, who won season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter, is 13-1 (3-1 UFC) in his MMA career, with his lone loss coming to uber-prospect Evan Dunham at Fight Night 20 in January. He holds UFC wins over Cole Miller, Dan Lauzon and Phillipe Nover.

Wiman was a cast member on season 5 of TUF, losing to eventual finalist and current WEC fighter Manny Gamburian. He is 12-5 (6-3 UFC), and had already fought Roger Huerta and Spencer Fisher by the time he fought on the reality show. He is currently on a two fight win streak.

The shuffle bumps John Gunderson to the undercard, where he will take on Houston based fighter Yves Edwards. Gunderson, 23-7 (1-1 UFC), is coming off a win over Mark Holst at The Ultimate Fighter Season 11 Finale. He formerly fought for Ken Shamrock's Las Vegas Lions in the team-based IFL organization.

Edwards, 38-16-1 (6-4 UFC), is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Luis Palamino at Bellator 24 on August 12th. He has also fought in the UFC, WEC, Pride, Strikeforce, Shine Fights and Elite XC. This will be his 15th fight on Texas soil, going 13-1 in his first 14 fights.

UFN 22 will take place at The Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX on September 15th. The event will be headlined by Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares.
